Linguistic & Cultural Diversity: Read-Alouds

The SHS Civil Rights Club has been created a series of video read-alouds of picture books which represent either their ancestral origins and identities or have special meaning for them. The aim is to create a library of videos for the elementary schools where they see older kids like them from their own community. The read-alouds may also be used to help to develop the Identity Anchor Standards as identified by Southern Poverty Law Center. Some of the titles included are also available through the SPS school libraries, the icons below indicate where the books can be found and borrowed.
